Andy Hehnlin moved to Alaska over 30 years ago to explore and find new opportunities in this Last Frontier. In that time he has lived in a variety of towns including Fairbanks, Girdwood, Nome (in the summers), Haines, and now Big Lake.
Andy has worked as a general contractor and a gold miner. He has prospected in the golden rivers of Girdwood, the golden beaches of Nome, and the golden hills of the Wrangles.
Andy began painting professionally in 1995. At first, he painted as a way to entertain himself during the long Alaskan winters while he waited for the gold bearing land to thaw. His love of photography has helped him capture many scenes from which he draws the inspirations for his paintings.
